A Summer Sandburn Hall Wedding in Yorkshire

When Jack - a childhood friend - asked me to photograph his wedding, I was absolutely over the moon. We’d only kept in light touch over social media for the last 20 years, so I was genuinely excited to see him again, meet his wife Hayley, and reconnect with his family, who I have so many great memories with from growing up.

As for Sandburn Hall… wow. What a stunning venue. As a photographer, you’re spoilt there - the natural light pours through those huge oak-beamed windows, and it creates the most beautiful atmosphere to shoot in.

I arrived in the morning to photograph Hayley getting ready, capturing a mix of hilarious and genuinely heart-warming moments. I love being there early - you really get to see the story of the day unfold naturally in the photos. Hayley looked absolutely incredible in her dress from Lucy Hart Bridal, and her first look with her dad was unforgettable.

The ceremony was also a first for me - my first time photographing one outside - and I loved the freedom it gave me to move around and capture little moments between family and friends. Special shoutout to Jack’s nephew for making a surprise appearance… what a legend.

The celebrations carried on late into the night, ending with a surprise firework display - just one example of how Sandburn Hall goes above and beyond to make the day unforgettable for their couples.
